Our original mission was: inject a serious design boost into both the app and the team. But we did such a good job, the goal was adjusted: bol had to deliver the best mobile shopping experience in the Netherlands. A pretty ambitious goal - but that’s exactly how we like it.

Bye banners, hello storefront
The homepage was the first thing we tackled. In the old design, opening the app meant seeing a collection of banners. We replaced those with a personalized, curated, and structured page - all in the right style, of course.

In 2018, we literally and figuratively outgrew ourselves. The app got a full redesign, while innovation continued at full speed. The results speak for themselves: the app performed strongly across all KPIs — and our app users are highly satisfied.
